Dallas Courier Company Eagle Express' Letter from the President
Letter from our Eagle Express Dallas Courier President Richard Dobrey
A good friend gave me a great book that is an easy read but much more challenging to apply. The book is The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews. Like many books I have read there are many things I agree with and some I don’t. But all in all this is a great read and I urge you to pick up a copy. I will not give away the story line in the event you decide to read it, but I will highlight the main purpose of the book which is to share with the reader seven decisions for success.
Most of what I share will come from the book but I will also add some of my own thoughts. My goal is simple. I hope that after reading this series you and I will come away with some tools that will make us better people in all realms of life.
Let’s get all seven of Andy Andrews’ decisions for success on the table.
The buck stops here. I am responsible for my past and my future.
I will seek wisdom. I will be a servant to others.
I am a person of action. I seize the moment. I choose now.
I have a decided heart. My destiny is assured.
Today I will choose to be happy. I am the possessor of a grateful spirit.
I will greet this day with a forgiving spirit. I will forgive myself.
I will persist without exception. I am a person of great faith.
The book is a novel and the main character goes back in time and meets historical figures who teach him these seven principles based on their life experiences. I will not give away the names of the characters so you can better enjoy the book. I personally found it fun to guess who the character was before they were formally introduced so I don’t want to deprive you of the same challenge.
Stay tuned for the next blog which will tackle the first decision - The buck stops here.
