The idea of tacos started long before we began calling them such. Mexicans, before the Spanish invasion, were known to eat soft, flattened corn tortillas filled with meats. It wasn’t until the 18th century that tacos began making their way mainstream. Miners used to take them as portable lunch to the job site, earning the name “tacos de minero”
