Turkeys Fly With Eagle Air Cargo Services

Thanksgiving is a week away! Who is ready to gobble ‘til you wobble? The Eagle Air Cargo Services team is here to help. We’re making airport runs all season long. Our friends at TSA have authorized us as an Indirect Air Carrier, making your air cargo deliveries as streamlined as possible. Forget waiting in line at the post office, or working with air cargo services yourself. The Eagle Express team makes flying cargo for the holiday easier than ever.

We can also make flying easier for you. As you hit the skies, heading to holidays near and far, you might be wondering: Can I bring my favorite Thanksgiving dish with me? The answer is: maybe! Eagle Express is here to deliver the facts about what flies (and what doesn’t) in your carry on. Don’t make the mistake of bringing your Thanksgiving meal, only to have to forfeit it at security.

Here is a list of foods that can and can’t fly in the cabin during the Thanksgiving holiday:

  • Fly List- Fruits and Veggies

Provided you aren’t flying from Hawaii, Puerto Rice, or the US Virgin Islands, your fruits and veggies can come in your carryon. (So you’ll have to find another excuse for not eating your vegetables.)

  • No Fly List- Gravy

Unless you’re brining enough gravy for just on pile of mashed potatoes, you’ll have to make other arrangements. Gravy is considered a liquid, and you have to abide by the 3.4 oz rule.

  • Fly List- Cheese

Solid cheese for your charcuterie board is “ok”.

  • No Fly List - Cheese (Creamy)

Cream cheese, cheese spread, and other creamy cheese can fly in the cabin…if they’re under 3.4 oz. Come on, though! We need more cheese than that!

  • Fly List- Seafood

You can bring your fresh and frozen seafood and meats on the plane. You can even bring ice, as long as the ice or ice packs are completely frozen, with no liquid in the bottom of the container, when you go through TSA.

  • No Fly List - Live Lobster

Actually, your airline might allow you to travel with live lobster. Give your airline a call to check their policies before heading to the airport.

  • Fly List- Pumpkin Pie

Much to our delight, your pumpkin pie is safe to fly! Same goes for your pecan, chocolate, and apple. Most pies are safe to fly, but they might need a little extra security check (and a taste test).

  • No Fly List- Jello Mold

In case you were planning to bring everyone’s favorite (not) Jello mold onto the plane, don’t. Gelatinous materials can’t fly in the cabin.

Don’t forget- the final decision rests with the TSA officer. Don’t spend Thanksgiving in the slammer for refusing to comply with rules about gravy!

Eagle Express can move pretty much anything, but when it comes to air cargo, the foods on the No Fly List have to go in the hold- not in the cabin. If that doesn’t suit your needs, Eagle Express offers dedicated truck deliveries for all your Thanksgiving needs. From live turkeys to frozen birds, the Eagle couriers have what it takes to make your Turkey Day delicious. Our dedicated trucking services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all holiday season long.

Don’t be a turkey this Thanksgiving. Call Eagle Express for your holiday deliveries!
