World Series Champs – Let’s Go Rangers!!
I’m still in a bit of shock when I think about it… the Texas Rangers are the 2023 World Series Champions!!
For North Texans who have been following the Rangers since the early days, we’ve all been hungry to bring the big W home to Arlington. We mention often on this blog that we aren’t a transplant business, meaning we didn’t spy good thing in DFW and move here for the economic gains. WE LIVE HERE. WE WORK HERE. WE ARE LOCAL. And though thick and thin, we follow the Rangers, the Cowboys, the Stars and the Mavs.
This season, it paid off in a big, celebratory way!! I have been cheering on the Rangers since I was a little kid. I was raised in the era of Nolan Ryan and Pudge Rodriguez, lemon chill in one hand, cotton candy in the other. To me, there’s nothing really quite like the game of baseball. There’s a certain nostalgia to it all: the crack of the bat, the hotdogs, the “cold beer” guy yelling out for sales, fans doing the wave, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” the dot race, the national anthem – it’s nine innings of forget-all-your-worries fun. It’s nine innings of remembering my grandma-in-law cheering on her Rangers like they were her own kids. It’s nine innings of beautiful camaraderie around a beloved game.

As a Rangers fan myself, I can’t help but think of the profound lessons and takeaways from this great team. The way they approached this season holds much that we can learn from. So here are the lessons we learned from the 2023 Rangers:
1. Never give up. The Rangers never gave up. They fought hard all season long, and even in difficult stretches, they kept their heads up and their eyes on the prize.
2. They believed in themselves. The Rangers dugout was consistently full of hope, expectation and BELIEF.
3. They cheered each other on. Our back-up catcher was the ultimate hype guy. He cheered on players, celebrated at big moments and pressed on through hard moments. Isn’t that what we all need?? Hype and encouragement goes a long way!
4. They acquired great players. Deep in the season, we brought on Carter and Montgomery. We added great team players to an already great team. 5. They rose to every occasion. Whether it was the wild card matchup, must-win series on the road or injuries to critical players like Garcia, The Rangers rose to every occasion instead of allowing fear and doubt to take root.
